Beyond the crest: texts, stars, flags and shapes
A motto in an arch, the stars for your titles, your region's flag or a ring around the number: everything you can add to the shirt, how it's done and why it costs nothing.
The crest and the sponsors are the usual. But a shirt can also carry the club motto in an arch, the stars for its titles, the flag of your homeland or a band running across it from side to side. All of that is done on the website itself, it's included in the price and it's printed exactly as you see it.
Where they are
In the “Crest and logos” step, below “Add logo”, you have the tools on cards: text, stars and flags, shapes and one-colour logo. When you tap one, its panel opens below. They're in Design your shirt and on the catalogue designs. The shapes change a little from one to the other, and we explain that further down.
A text, straight or arched
With “Add text” you write up to 32 characters: the club name, a motto, “champions”, the year it was founded… You choose whether it's Straight or Arched, the font, the colour and, if you like, an outline so it can be read on any background.
Then you place it like any logo: you drag it into position and enlarge or rotate it from its frame. An arched text looks great above the crest.
Champion stars and flags
“Champion stars and flags” opens both. The stars are the classic way to show titles, and the usual thing is to put them above the crest.
The flags have a search box: type “Colombia”, “Galicia” or “Europe” and you'll get flags of countries, regions and communities. Tap one and it goes onto the shirt like any other logo: you move it, enlarge it or take it to the sleeve.
A one-colour logo
Some logos, in full colour, don't go with the shirt. “A one-colour logo” turns it into a single colour so it matches the design and reads well. On the row of each logo you've already uploaded, the “Colour” button does the same.
Shapes: rings, bands, chevrons, stripes…
In “Design your shirt”, “Shapes” has nine: ring, oval, patch, pill, band, chevron, diamond, stripes and star. For each one you can change:
- the colour, with a plain or striped fill, or just the outline (thin, thick or as thick as you like);
- the border: no border, thin or thick, with its own colour;
- the thickness of the ring and the chevron, and one or two stripes;
- the size (from 30% to almost five times bigger), taller or wider, and the rotation;
- on the star, from 4 to 8 points, thinner or fatter.
And the position, from a list: around the number, behind the number, behind the name, across the chest from side to side, the top of the chest, the centre of the chest, above the crest or both sleeves.
With the panel open, the shape has handles on the pattern. You drag it wherever you want; with “Stretch” you pull from a corner or a side; with “Distort” each corner moves on its own, like when you distort an image; and “Straighten” makes it straight again. “Add another one the same” gives you a copy for the other side, and “Remove this shape” deletes it.
Shapes always go underneath the crest, the name and the number, so they never cover them.
On the catalogue designs, the shapes are ring, circle, band, stripes, chevron, diamond, star and shield, with 18 colours and the “Outline only” option. They can be moved, enlarged and rotated with their frame.
How to handle them
When you tap a logo, a text or a shape, its frame appears. From the corners you change the size without distorting it, and with the circle you rotate it (it stays straight as it passes 0°, 90° or 180°). On its little bar you have − and +, zoom and remove. On a computer, the arrow keys move it, + and − change the size and Esc lets it go.
If one covers another, “↑ Bring forward” and “↓ Send back” change the order: the last one on the list stays on top, and it's printed the same way. And if you make a mistake, the ↶ ↷ arrows undo and redo (or Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y).
What it costs: nothing
Texts, stars, flags, the one-colour logo and shapes are included, just like logos. The sublimated shirt costs the same, €20.95, with the crest, the sponsors, the name and the number. You see it on the website before paying.
Three ideas to get started
- A ring around the number, in the colour of the sleeves.
- A band across the chest from side to side, like the classic kits.
- The club motto in an arch, above the crest, and the stars for its titles.
Try it in Design your shirt or on any design in the catalogue: you'll find it all in the “Crest and logos” step. And if your club doesn't have a crest yet, create it right there with “No crest? Create one here”.
